Standard Terms and Conditions of Trade
Commercial Vehicle Movements Ltd (CVM Ltd) undertakes to collect and deliver vehicles under the following terms and conditions only. By placing an order with CVM Ltd you agree to these terms and conditions in full and no exceptions to these conditions will apply.
Orders
CVM Ltd requires a written request, by email prior to any order being accepted.
Our operations team will then confirm this request.
Upon receipt of the customer’s order, the full terms and conditions set out in this document will be applicable.
All requests must include full collection and delivery details, postcodes, contact numbers and vehicle details.
CVM Ltd will endeavour to ensure that the order is completed within the time frame specified in the request, however, CVM Ltd will not be liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond its control, i.e –
- Delays or cancellations caused by mechanical / electrical failure
- Adverse traffic
- Public transport delays
- Weather conditions
All vehicles require a valid MOT and must be deemed to be roadworthy.
With the exception of vehicles bound for export or disposal that have all required paperwork. In this case the vehicle must still be deemed roadworthy
Costs
CVM Ltd will provide a quote for the movement at the time of order and this price will usually be the movement cost only. This price will not include fuel or vat at the prevailing rate. Customers who wish for an all inclusive quote must request this at the time.
CVM Ltd will advise of any extra charges that may be applicable to the movement request at the time of order, i.e. hire car / night out allowance.
We advise of toll charge fees after the completed movement accordingly.
It is the customers’ responsibility to inform CVM Ltd if the movement will be going through any restricted zones.
This includes;
- DVS zone (London Area)
- Ulez zones
- All clean air zones (City Dependant)
CVM Ltd will not accept liability for penalty charges incurred for such zones if not pre-advised at the time of the booking.
An annual price review will take place on the 31st March each year and a minimum 3% increase will be applied to standard charges.
Cancellations
CVM Ltd will cancel any order without charge to the customer, providing the cancellation is received at least 24 working hours in advance of the required date.
Cancellations / aborts less than 24 working hours in advance will be charged in full.
CVM reserve the right to charge an aborted movement fee at the agreed costs of the movement in full, plus any additional costs incurred due to the cancellation.
Vehicles aborted at the time of collection for any reason, will also be charged in full
Waiting Time
Waiting time is charged at £20 per hour + VAT with a 30 minute deferment period.
Waiting time will be charged for the following reasons:
- Vehicle not available for any reason
- Breakdown / Waiting for recovery
Insurance Cover
CVM Ltd will insure vehicles in our possession up to a maximum of £250,000.00 against damage caused whilst in the care of CVM Ltd.
Exceptions to damage liabilities
CVM Ltd will not be liable for costs incurred due to the following situations:
- Damaged / chipped windscreens during transit
- Damaged /chipped paint / bodywork due to road conditions during transit.
- Damage to Tyres during transit
- Engine / mechanical /electrical failure during transit
- Loss of Hire / use charges arising from vehicle damage whilst in our care.
Breakdown cover / Costs
CVM does not provide breakdown cover for any vehicles in our care.
Customers must ensure that cover can be provided in the event of mechanical breakdown.
Any costs arising from such an event will be the responsibility of the customer.
In the event of a vehicle being deemed immobile, costs incurred as a result of necessary work or if recovery is required, will be recharged to the customer in full.
This will apply in the event of the customer not being contactable for any reason.
In the case where CVM Ltd have arranged any recovery on behalf of a customer, an admin fee will be applied.
The customer may be liable for additional storage fees if an immobile vehicle is not recovered from CVM Ltd’s secure compound within 48 working hours.
Electric Vehicles
CVM Ltd require all vehicles to be fully charged upon collection.
CVM Ltd reserve the right to abort any vehicle found with less than 50% charge. This abort cost will be charged in full.
In the event of the vehicle requiring an additional charge on route, any costs incurred will be forwarded to the customer plus charging time at a rate of £20 per hour + VAT.
